María Noguerol, comes to the Maker Faire Galicia to tell us about this great social innovation initiative.

This society was founded by the former mayor of Madrid, Manuela Carmena, and is currently managed by her niece María Noguerol, who also runs the visible face of this society: Zapatelas, a store located in the central Malasaña neighborhood of Madrid .

In this store we can find clothes for babies and children, shoes, toys and decorative elements. However, the most interesting thing is in the process of creating these products, since the store is also a workshop where migrant mothers and ex-prisoners work preparing the patterns and cutting the pieces.

They also collaborate with different workshops such as professionalized social insertion workshops and occupational workshops in prisons, which are responsible for finishing all the pieces that are prepared in the workshop.
